Brenda Goodman

Born in Detroit in 1943, Goodman studied at the Society of Arts and Crafts (currently Center for

Creative Studies), in Detroit. Since 1976 she has lived and worked in New York City. Goodman's work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows throughout the United States and is included in such public collections as The Detroit Institute of Arts; Museum of Contemporary Arts and The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Chicago. Among her awards are a 1994 Artist Fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts and a 1991 Visual Artist Fellowship from the NEA.
