Jack Slentz took his BA at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas and his MFA at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. He completed his MFA at the University of Memphis, Tennessee. He has taught at the University of Central Arkansas and currently teaches at the Santa Fe Community College.
