Born 1935, Milan, Italy. Immigrated to the United States in 1962. Recipient of the 1983

National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artist Fellowship. Lives and works in New York

City.

Lucio Pozzi

American, Born 1935

Lucio Pozzi was born in Milan, Italy and immigrated to the United State in 1962. The Vogels first met Pozzi at an opening at artist-run 55 Mercer Gallery in 1971. He participated in the May 1976 inaugural exhibition, Rooms, at P.S.1, New York, and in 1983, received a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artist Fellowship. Pozzi has taught at Princeton University and Cooper Union, and is currently a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts in New York. His work has been exhibited across the United States and in Europe, and is in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, among others.
