Heather Hutchinson
Heather Hutchison was born in 1964 in Philomath, Oregon and raised between there, Northern and Southern California, and just north of the Mexican border in Bisbee, Arizona. Her education as a painter began in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1980's. Her work then lead her to New York City in 1986.
In 1989, Hutchison had her first solo exhibition at The Bess Cutler Gallery in SoHo, followed by multiple solo exhibitions at The Jamison Thomas Gallery, also in SoHo, The Nohra Haime Gallery on Madison Ave., and most recently with Margaret Thatcher Projects in Chelsea. Heather Hutchison has taken part in many group exhibitions throughout the U.S. and abroad. Heather Hutchison is a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner award (2012), a Gottlieb Foundation Individual Artist grant (2011) and an SOS Grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts (2009). Her work has been exhibited in The Corcoran Biennial in Washington, D.C., at The Brooklyn Museum, The Otis College of Art and Design, in Los Angeles, The Samuel Dorsky Museum in upstate New York, The Knoxville Museum of Art, and The Montclair Art Museum, in Montclair, NJ.
